Greetings from Bluegrass Wine Country!  Not everyone is aware that Kentucky has a long-standing tradition of being a wine-producing state, but our climate and soil is ideal for producing fine grapes and our state’s vineyards enjoyed great commercial success – until prohibition in the 1920’s.  After that, most agricultural pursuits centered around tobacco and cattle.

Fortunately, several years ago, commercial wineries started making a comeback due in large part to smart farmers reinvesting the proceeds of the infamous tobacco buyout.  Today, we have a large number of wineries – many of which have won national awards.  Living in central Kentucky’s bluegrass region, I have the privilege of witnessing the success of neighbors as they enjoy their wineries – and their customers who enjoy the wine!
